Call Out for Bill C-92 Working Group Members

Bill C-92 Working Group
The George Gordon First Nation (GGFN) have taken steps to assert jurisdiction over Child and Family Wellness (Services) pursuant to Section 20(1) An Act Respecting First Nations, Inuit and Metis Children, Youth and Families. GGFN intends to exercise our legislative authority in relation to Child and Family Jurisdiction and are currently working towards this.

As part of this initiative, GGFN is looking for interested members to be a part of the Bill C-92 Working Group. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

 Knowledge and understanding of GGFN community, language and culture
 Knowledge of and/or direct experience within the child and family services area
 Knowledge of Bill C-92
 Willing to assist in the process of law concepts and policy development
 Must have strong communication skills
 Must be a GGFN member
 Must submit a Vulnerable Sector Check

1 Elder/Senior 65+ and/or Knowledge Keeper
1 Youth (Age range: 18-25)
2 Adult members (Age range: 26-65)
